Last week we have so many troubles with air compressor machine. All 4 of the compressor got tripped simultaneously and cause havoc to production line. There are error messages indicated 'High air temperature'. Our Kobelco compressor equipped with automatic cut off system if compressed air getting hot.
After investigation, we found the culprit. It was due to failure of one suction pump which should circulate cooled water from cooling tower to the compressor cooling system. The pump couldn't supply enough water to cool down compressed air. Water pressure was so low. And today our maintenance side changed the pump.
It seem that the brass impeller already worn out here and there. Actually this pump quite new because it was installed one and half year ago. I suspect there were some positioning error during previous intallation. Misalignment between motor and pump always affecting life of pumps.
